Arab Sea Ports Federation Objectives

  • Developing, improving and coordinating members' work fields, strengthen the relationships between them and participating in achieving the economic integration among the Arab States, through practicing its mission, specialties and expertise in Arab Sea Ports Facility.
  • To be a general framework through which coordinating is attained between existing Arab Regional Port Unions or those established in the future.

For the sake of achieving these objectives, the federation is working on:

  • Offering aid and support for its members in the following fields:
    • Developing and advancing the means of work to achieve best economic returns and expertise exchange between members for this purpose.
    • Obtaining the advanced modern technology and joining the members' efforts to provide the best conditions and working upon developing this technology to suit the nature and reality of the members' activities and equipments.
    • Performing researches and preparing economical feasibility studies for the projects determined to be established and presenting the instructions regarding the contact with Arab and foreign specialized Expertise Houses.
    • Coordinating between member countries in implementing new projects or expanding the existing projects in compliance with the needs of the Arab World, for the purpose of attaining integration between the countries, members of the federation, and making use of non-functioning capacities.
    • Solving technical and commercial problems, etc,which members encounter while performing works, assigned to them.
    • Providing members' needs of materials, numbers and utilities, when necessary or beneficiary.In that case, it is stipulated to provide these needs according to suitable quality and price standards.The Federation urges its members to exchange materials and equipments – when necessary – among each other.
  • Urging companies and associations affiliated to the Federation to act as one group in their relationship with other entities,and offering them its support in this field.
  • Performing the arbitrator role when resorted to for this purpose or participating in other arbitration works, when requested to do so.
  • Encouraging members to establish Arab joint companies and presenting projects for establishing these companies to the Arab Economic Unity Council and Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization or the Arab competent organization to consider their endorsement.
  • Establishing close collaboration relationships with other Arab federations and authorities to achieve the objectives which the federation is striving to attain and establishing cooperation relationships with foreign authorities in relation with the federation work field and its activities.
  • Setting a training and habilitation program to raise the efficiency of workers in the federation work field and presenting support and assistance in implementing these programs.
  • Issuing the publications, magazines and periodicals and holding seminars for the purpose of achieving the federation's objectives and targets.
  • Participating in Arab and International Seminars and Conferences, if their subjects were related to the federation work and members' activities.
  • Providing the latest Arab International technical, economical and commercial statistics and information with regards to production materials and utilities and medieval material and final products.
  • Offering assistance to the members in providing their needs of technical and administrative cadres through exchange among each other.
